Reception children are at the beginning of learning to read so it is really important that they learn to love books. Having an adult read to the child every day not only shows what fun and enjoyment can be had from books but also makes children want to be independent and read for themselves.  Young children particularly enjoy books that have rhyming or repeated phrases in that they can join in with.

Enjoy these books together; you’ll be surprised by the end of the year, how many of the words your child will be able to read themselves!
