Ashford St Mary’s is a Church of England Primary School close to Ashford town centre.   We are a 2 form entry school with a published admission number of 420.  We admit 60 children into our Reception classes in the September after their 4th birthday.  As a church school our governors admit pupils in accordance with our admission criteria.  A supplementary information form, available from our school office, should be completed if you wish to claim church affiliation.

Applications should also be made to the local education authority for every child seeking a Reception place.  The on-line application process is open from mid-November until mid-January each academic year.  Information about this is displayed in all nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools.

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2021 you can appeal between 19th April -17 May 2021 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 16 July 2021.   For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.

If you would like your child to join the school at any time other than at the start of Reception, you will need to complete a Casual In-year Admissions Form available from the school office. If a place is not immediately available, your details will be kept on file until there is a space, at which point, the over-subscription criteria is applied to ascertain who the place is offered to.

We are always happy for parents to come and have a look around our school.  Please contact our school office on 01233 625531 to make an appointment.
